چکیده

A discussion of linear dynamics and nonlinear evolution of modes belonging to the shear Alfvhn branch is presented. Attention is focused to the modes which exist near the gap of the continuous spectrum. A discussion of the relative importance of mode-mode coupling, E x B trapping and stochastic losses is also presented.

The effect of material nonlinearity on the band gap for TE and TM modes in square and triangular lattices

In this article, by using the method of finite difference time domain (FDTD) and PML boundary conditions, we have studied the photonic band gaps for TE and TM modes in square and triangular lattices consisting of air holes in dielectric medium and compared the results. In addition, the effect of nonlinearity of the photonic crystal background on the photonic band gaps and comparison with the re...

Particle simulation of energetic particle driven Alfv19 en modes

The mutual nonlinear interactions of shear Alfvén modes and alpha particles can enhance their transport in burning plasmas. Theoretical and numerical works have shown that rapid transport of energetic ions can take place because of fast growing Alfvén modes (e.g. energetic particle driven modes, EPMs). This kind of transport has been observed in experiments as well as in numerical simulations. ...

Effects of Alpha Particle Transport Driven by Alfvénic Instabilities on Proposed Burning Plasma Scenarios on ITER

The consistency of proposed burning plasma scenarios with Alfvénic instabilities driven by alpha particles is investigated. If the alpha particle pressure is above the threshold for resonant excitation of Energetic Particle driven Modes (EPMs), significant modification of the alpha particle pressure profile can take place. Model simulations are performed using the Hybrid MHD-Gyrokinetic Code (H...

QUANTUM TUNNELING IN MEDIUMS WITH LINEAR AND NONLINEAR DISSIPATION

We have applied the method of integration of the Heisenberg equation of motion proposed by Bender and Dunne, and M. Kamella and M. We concentrate our calculations on the evolution of basis set of Weyl Ordered Operators and calculate the mean position , velocity , the commutation relation [q, p], and the energ...

Consistency of Proposed Burning Plasma Scenarios with Alpha Particle Transport Induced by Alfvénic Instabilities

The stability of proposed burning-plasma scenarios (for ITER-FEAT, IGNITOR and FIRE) with respect to shear-Alfvén modes possibly driven by fusionproduced alpha particles is investigated along with the effects of such modes on the transport and confinement properties of the alpha particles themselves. The results of numerical particle-in-cell model simulations show that one of the proposed scena...
